Led by guitarist Solo De Kanto, originally from Bandundu Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo; Orchestre Moto is a band based in New York City that celebrates Congolese music.
Orchestre Moto was co-founded by rhythm guitarist Julian Apter soon after he started taking lessons with Solo De Kanto. They met while playing together in Nkumu Katalay's Lifelong Project Band, where Julian played as the rhythm guitarist for five years. The group has played at the Sultan Room in Brooklyn and the Shrine in Harlem, and is currently recording their first album.

"Orchestre Moto is a must-see band every time they play in the New York area. 'Moto' means hot and they definitely are. Everyone was on their feet dancing and they were superb!" - Thelma Loubaki, Congolese dance instructor for more than 40 years.
